Really? Sick?? YUCK!

So yesterday I woke up feeling like I was hit by a truck... which really put a damper on my ambition to get anything done.  Really, who wants to do anything when they feel sick?  Fast forward to the night, it is my scheduled weekend to work and I work Thursday thru Sunday night shifts... so ya... not good when you feel like doing nothing but being in bed.  I went to work feeling okay, considering I spent much of the day in bed... only to end the shift with a squeaky, raspy, raw voice... LOVELY!  So now I feel and sound awful... I can't even fake it!  Well lots of liquids and trips to the bathroom I still feel run down.  I downed some vitamin C and vitamins... because taking a multivitamin every once and a while will make me better right??  Well I'm going back to bed... to try to think about how I am going to write my paper for monday night while being sick and working all weekend... it should be interesting... at least I am on plan with food!! :)

How to eat out and still be a looser.

Since I have started this WW journey nearly 3 1/2 weeks ago I am happy to say I have been "on plan" the whole time.  I have also declared this my LAST time ever doing WW.  :)

What's different about this time?  Well, I am following the plan with tracking (completely honestly), exercising, drinking lots of water, and eating a bushel of fruits/veggies.  The new plan has fruits as free... no really FREE points.  I don't feel deprived, and when I am craving something sweet... I just grab a fruit.

Surprisingly I have eaten out with friends as well during this new adventure, and felt like it was a treat and wonderful.  The key?  Something people all over the world do: check out the menu before you go.  For me I try to get to a website that has calculated the Points+ for each food so I can find the best one that fits into my food budget.  I choose something that will feel like a splurge, but won't bankrupt my points.  Amazing as it sounds, planning ahead does make life easier!

Happy Tuesday!

Rain rain go away... come again another day: NEXT WEEK?

I feel like I am on Noah's ark... it's been raining off an on for the past few days and today it is especially grey, gloomy and wet!  Rain puts me in a funk... so de-funkify myself I went to the Y and got some exercise done!!! And yes, I feel MUCH better.  As a person who never really liked physical activity I am really enjoying it.  The more that I do, the more I crave it... and feel like a slug if I don't go and do something.

This morning I managed to walk the treadmill, bike, and yoga.  Yes, me... the lover of couches and potatoes (in any form).  My plan for this week is continue the water revolution (lots and lots of it), and good eating, with lots of exercise.  I am determined to have a ROCKIN' number this week at weigh in on friday am.  Which I am curious about, since it is after I work all night long... kind of like a late day weigh in for normal people.

Happy Monday!

Strange Weight !?!

So this last week WW weigh in showed a +3.8 gain, WTF?  I stayed after and talked with my leader and went through things.  Need to add a little more lean protein but mostly doing things right.  So that was Friday.  Saturday I wake up, and step on the scale before getting in the shower: -5.8lbs in 1 day!!  How is that possible??? Makes me feel a little better as my gain wasn't a true gain... just some water weight and as of today Sunday I am maintaining the -5.8 loss...   Optimistic things are going well, I am still on plan and happy happy happy!

Off to get ready for some Packer football later today.

I can finally walk like a NoRmAl person!

Yes, today I can finally walk like a normal person... no more old lady hobbling around... Post 5K my left calf was in a huge ball right under the back of my knee.  Stretching did NOTHING to help.... (ok maybe helped a little bit), but the pain would return as soon as I finished stretching.)  Walking was awful, because I couldn't use a normal gait, extension of my leg would just cause the muscle to ball up.  Monday was a little better, and yesterday even more better (I know that is not correct english)...I did the treadmill last night as well as the bike... and that seemed to help... YEAH!

Last night I decided I was going to go to Zumba!  If my leg was painful or not, I needed to get moving.  Luckily I woke up this morning and was able to walk normally!!!!  Zumba was awesome, I am branching out of my local Y (we have 4 in our area the one in my town is the smallest) and have been taking classes at the HUGE downtown Y, I thought having different teachers with different moves would help me not get "used" to routines... and WOW... it's great!  It did take me until today to realize the downtown Y offers a keycard to get into the parking garage, up until now I have been paying $2 everytime I went there... so another win for today.  Off to get some ibuprofen and a nice hot shower!

Happy Wednesday!

The day after

So, yes, I did survive my first 5k!  Yesterday I was stiff after sitting when I got home for a bit... and last night I had muscles YELLING at me while I slept.  This tells me two things: 1) I am out of shape, 2) If sore muscles is all I have to complain about I best get training for my next one AND  stretch the hell of of my muscles!

I had a lower weight loss last week with WW, and the gal that weighed me in said that with increased exercise sore muscles hold onto to more water as they recuperate.  Most of me wants to believe that, the other part of me thinks IF YOU ARE EXERCISING you SHOULD be loosing more weight.  I am determined to have a better weight loss this week!

Time to feed the family breakfast... and get ready for some Packer Football!  Happy Sunday!

I did it!

Yes, that's right this lady finished her first ever 5k!  I kept up with my time, and can't wait to do another to improve my time!  Best part... having my husband with me during the whole thing!!  It was nice and cold... 49 degrees, and nothing I like better than walking when its cold, much better than HOT!

I'll work on getting a few pictures up and posted... have to figure out how to get them off my phone.

1 day and counting!

Well today marks a few milestones:
1: 2 full weeks or 14 days of tracking every morsel that goes into my mouth.  Yes, that's right... imagine this everyone FOOD TRACKING works!  I am back at WW and enjoying the new program with free fruits & veggies!!  My two weeks of tracking, exercising and listening to my head have yielded a wonderful -5.4lb weight loss.  My enthusiasm might even have encouraged my bff Jen into joining WW too, we both attended today and I am excited for the possibilites!!  Not to mention, my wonderful husband has been a fabulous support during these last few weeks, encouraging me, and helping to keep me on task/honest.  (I wonder if he even realizes how wonderful he is??)

2.  One day until the big 5k!  I am excited!  Ready... and a bit nervous!?!  I know that people are in the zone when they "race", I still have the fat girl complex... but HEY, this fat girl is doing a 5k so ya!  If anyone has a problem with it I can tell them where to stick it!

3.  3 days of exercise for this week: Tue: Zumba, Wed: Zumba, Thur: Yoga, today is a day of rest for me as I am still sore from the last 3 days and want to have my body in prime shape for tomorrow!  I'll let you know how it all shakes out!!
